Ymer: With New Kosovo thermal power, the current will be expensive

Vetevendosje Movement leader Visar Ymer has called the project scandalous for the “New Kosovo thermal power plant, for which the agreement was signed yesterday.

Ymer said this project harms Kosovo's economy.

“Dation has been signed agreement on building the “New Kosovo”, this is the largest post-war project, but also nontransparent. This project is scandalous after privatisation is now under way in the second phase of privatisation. This privatisation does not have how else to do but privatise the state”, he has said.

With this agreement, he said, the government has eased Kosovo's potential for economic development.

With this contract we're giving up our infrastructure. We are giving up an opportunity that has Kosovo's economy”, Ymer said, reports “Zeri.info”.

He said the price of electricity risks rising 40% in the coming years.

This will cause problems for citizens who still find it difficult to pay for electricity”, he said.

Ymer called on the government to be careful with such projects.
