Thousands of cheers were heard for the New Year as coloured fireworks exploded on the city's horizon at midnight.
SkyCity City a casino and event centre in Auckland was once again the focus of the country's celebrations with a dramatic show of fireworks.
A huge digital clock in the tower was counting along the course before the horizon exploded on an amazing color flash.
Samo was the first country in the world to welcome the year 2018 just an hour ago.
