According to state agency “Tanjug”, this “has practically concluded a multiday political crisis in which Western diplomats have again played a key role”.
“RTS” says two Kosovo Parliamentary deputies -- Behgjet Pacolli and six other deputies -- withdrew signatures from a motion to gather a parliamentary session to discuss the abolition of the Special Court for KLACE crimes.
“35 remaining deputies' firms are not possible, and it is not possible to organise any session with them. This ended with the loss of credibility of Kosovo leaders”, said MP Ilir Dedaj.
Otherwise, KLA War Veterans Organisation Secretary Faton Klink told “RTV Duagjini” that Kosovo President Hashim Thaci threatened veterans who protested the court's establishment. “We protested and he publicly accused us,” said Klink.
Kosovo lawyer Tom Gashi told the same television there is no chance that the Special Court formation Law will be completely abolished. “We need to know how the Special Court Act was created,” said Gashi, adding that this law is harmful to Kosovo and Albanians wherever they are, reports “b92”, Periscopi broadcast.
However, he noted that those committed to legal issues are still in a fresh reminder of pressure that then Prime Minister Hasim Thaci has created conditions in parliament for MPs to adopt this law.
“was a major pressure on MPs, especially members of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, who told Thaci that if the Special Court Law is not adopted, there will be early general elections and those who will not vote for this law will not be listed on this list”, Gashi said.
Kadri Wessel, Parliament Speaker and nominal First Man The PDK since Thaci's election is one of the possible indictees of the new court, along with several other former KLA commanders, including Hashim Thaci and Ramush Haradinaj, said “Tanjug”.
A special court under the auspices of the European Union, formed in 2015, is prosecution of cases against KLA members for crimes committed during and after the war in Kosovo.
Investigation into these crimes began after report by Council of Europe Special Rapporteur Dick Marty. /Periscopi/
