US President Donald Trump will recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, senior administration officials said.
But officials said Trump would not move immediately to the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
News has been made public ahead of a speech to hold Trump on Wednesday.
Arab leaders have rejected the movement of the US Embassy in Jerusalem, saying it would be “a flagrant provocation of Muslims”, KosovaPress broadcasts.
Jerusalem's status ʹthe sacred place for the Israelites and Palestinians continues to be indisputable.
Israel has always named Jerusalem its capital, while Palestinians claim East Jerusalem as the capital of a future Palestinian state.
Recognising Jerusalem as Israel's capital, the United States becomes the first country to do so since the founding of the state in 1948.
