Chief State Prosecutor, Alexander Lumez, spoke of the bugged conversations he published tonight. KTV, in which senior PDK officials talked about a possible engagement within the party.
Lumez, in a statement to Kalxo.com, confirmed that he met with “individuals in question, alluding to the two top PDK officials, Ademi Grabovcin and Besim Beqaj, who, according to the wiretaps, were planning together with Hashim Thaci and Kadri Veselini to offer him the party's license and the opportunity to run for Pristina's head of PDK.
“Although five years have passed by the events you ask questions about, as far as I can remember, I've met and greeted the gentlemen in question, although I really don't remember the details of this meeting. This is the period when I have also had meetings with representatives of other political parties at various ceremonies organised by local and international institutions”, Lumez said.
But he denied receiving any offer from the PDK to run for Pristina chairman.
No. ! I had not only rejected such an offer but also kept it in mind, for it is not often that someone proposes to you for the first man in the capital.
I have not received such an offer so far, nor do I believe that I will because I have spent my entire life in a profession for which I have been educated and do not intend to change my course of life”, Lumez told KALLXO.com.
This is the second time in a few weeks that Lumez is being targeted by public opinion, as earlier reports of counterfeiting the jurisdictional exam prompted the prosecution to investigate his file.
