The FOL movement through the programme for the Transparent Commission, Efficiency and Accounting supported by USAID has organised an awareness performance to mark the international day against corruption.
Zulfay lives by the FOL Movement said this performance was organised under the week against corruption, which is marked by various activities led by a coalition of civil society together with the American Embassy and USAID, so a special thanks is given to USAID and this programme that has enabled this activity.
“The Corruption Word is used worldwide to describe abuse of power for personal gain. In developed countries, corruption is associated with white ties and influential individuals, while in poor countries it is associated with economic destruction, authoritarian regimes and abuse of human and natural resources. Neither does Kosovo make an exception in this direction”, Zulfaj said.
According to him, since the word corruption is used to describe the above phenomena, the word itself has never been analysed in context. At first glance, it is seen that the word ends with COM, which internationally is a signal expressing something active, something that works and is in operation.
As long as we cannot change the word Corruption, on International Anti-Corruption Day we will change its meaning. Today, we're stopping corruption from the ON to OFF”, Zulfaj said.
