Although the topic of visa liberalisation dominates in Kosovo's debates about the EU, and with that the agreement with Montenegro on demarcation of the border, the European Union's main concerns with Kosovo are organised crime and corruption, Koha Ditore writes today.
The issue of respecting the division of powers, political influence, and loss of confidence in the judicial system, total disregard for procedures in prosecutors and judges, and the commitment to the privileges of imprisoned persons who are “high-profile”.
These concerns, along with other assessments about developments in Kosovo and progress in implementing the Stabilisation and Association Agreement, are included in a draft document of the EU's joint positions for meeting with the Kosovar side under the Stabilisation and Association Council that was held in Brussels late November.
