Arctic heat, scientists sound the alarm

Warming and fast changing in the Arctic seems to have turned into a new normality, with no signs of a return to the frozen region of the past.

The completion is made by the Arctic administration Report Card, which annually represents the state of the environment in the area. The programme's director, Jeremy Mathis, says that the region had served the planet a lot by acting as a refrigerator.

But we left the refrigerator door open. Mathis spoke at the annual conference of the American Geophysics Union in New Orleans, where he presented the latest data on the condition of the Arctic.

In its 12th administration report, the region will not stay in its frozen state as in the past. Alarmed by scientists is the fact that the Arctic is changing faster than ever in history.

Matthew's speed of change is making it very difficult to adapt people. “Villages are flooding into the American-verior archic by creating the first refugees of climate”, states the researcher, who also mentions rising sea levels due to Arctic warming, much faster than anticipated a decade ago.

Experts think climate changes caused by human hands are contributing to the warming of the Arctic and its return to a dynamic region.
