For three years, over 14,000 Kosovars received German citizenship

Over 16 thousand Kosovars have given up citizenship during the past three years alone. This is due to provisions from various European states to maintain only one citizenship.
In 2015, according to Interior Ministry data (MPB), 5540 Kosovars have chosen foreign citizenship, thus declaring non-cosovars, while in 2016 this number has reached 5871 and in 2017 alone within January-October 4999, it is registered to have renounced Kosovo citizenship, writes away <x1Zer”.
The demands for lifting citizenship come mainly from Germany. The MPB suggests 14110 Kosovars in the past three years have applied for release from Kosovo's citizenship, claiming German citizenship.
After Germany, the demand for lifting Kosovo's citizenship by release are Kosovars, who want to become Austrian citizens. 1469 people have been declared for Austrian citizenship, not Kosovo citizenship.
While 260 people have chosen a Norwegian passport instead of Kosovo, as well as Kosovars living in other countries are 571 people, who have also been declared to give up Kosovo's citizenship.
