Scandal in May government, second resignation arrives in a week

British Secretary of State for International Development Priti Patel resigned this evening after meeting with Israeli policy personalities without informing her government.

Patel is the second official to leave the cabinet in a week.

Patel apologised publicly Monday for meeting with a series of Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, during holidays in Israel.

But the media reported two more meetings, in Great Britain and in the United States.
