The report on the death of a worker at Bechtel& Enka”

The 41-year-old's death on October 28th sparked a serious alarm for cases of death of workers in the workplace, as this was the second worker within the workshop of “Bechtel & Enka” who found death in October during his work on the “Arba Xhaferi” highway.

And until the days after the event were given some rough versions of what had happened with fatality, the Kosovo Labour Inspectorate now has its final version. The Labour Inspector has the official report, but has not yet made a decision about the event.

The Labour Inspectorate report, drafted on November 3rd, finds that the labour body has not been at the right level and well followed, and the employer has put the worker at risk.

According to the findings in this report, Milaku stressed that the victim was found some 7m above the cantina outside of the territory where the cantina and the toilets were located.

The second of the Labour Inspectorate has underlined that the problem lies in the fact that the victim has left his workplace without permission and not on time of pause.

According to the report, there was no written ordinance to leave the workplace, no request was made to leave it, and it is known that on that day because they were unable to supply material that was supposed to be pressed because the worker had worked hard to press the material on the street (s). “valak”), no work that day, has been cheaper than in other days, and unfortunately it has gone there. The problem is that at work, even though there is a cantina, you can't go to serve as many times as possible without your employer's permission. According to Agim Milaku, the report does not mean that the company “Bechtel & Enka” will prove innocent, as according to the findings it has violated certain legal provisions.

In addition to this article, according to the Doing Inspectorate report, the company “Bechtel & Enka” is appearing to have committed several other violations of the legal provisions, always according to Milak.

And, regarding these enumerated violations and the overall report “Bechtel & Enka” has the right to hand over the remarks it has. After that, the final decision of the Labour Inspectorate would be made.

However, although the report was drafted three weeks ago and according to Milak the same was launched by mail to the company, the latter has not yet delivered the remarks.

And, according to the legal deadline, the Labour Inspectorate has to make a decision on a 30-day basis from the draft of the report, which is that at the beginning of December there will be a decision about the death of Tahir Talallar.

But this decision does not end everything. The entire report and the decision are followed by the criminal co-operation made by the Kosovo Police. The company's headed the same way.
