Protest required to put pressure on unjust energy management decision

Council for Protection, Freedoms and Human Rights Chairman Behx0> Behxhet Shala has said the Kosovo Assembly would have to hold an extraordinary session to discuss the plunder being done to Kosovo citizens and businesses, for the damage worth tens of millions of euros for Albanians.

Shala tells Kosovo that neglect and silence of Kosovo institutions would have to wake up citizens from sleep to pressure the country's institutions, just above Z. The RRE and the KED.

Nobody's asking that KED bills not be paid, but we're all looking to stick to the obligation to pay the bills for what we've spent on the service that we've been given. In addition, he has renewed that citizens should not pay KED's bills more than 70 per cent, because according to him, 25-30 per cent is the burden of energy spent by Serbs.

To compensate for the means, Shala has said the best way would be for this to happen under future fate.

“in our reactions, we have demanded that in addition to cutting the discrimination bill, all Kosovo citizens who have paid the current regularly be compensated for the damage that has been done to them without their blame. I don't see the possibility that KED or anyone else will return their money, counting the years that the electricity has been paid the most, but this could simply be done during the upcoming fattour”, Shala said.

Ombudsman Hilmi Jashar, who had initiated the case at the Court, has said they are in the process of waiting, although, according to him, the judicial decision is almighty and does not depend on the existence of boards, whether they are functional or not. ZERE spokeswoman Adelina Murtezaj Bajrami has told Kosovo that the ZERE is obliged to implement the tribunal's decisions, but to make the necessary changes to the fee need the Board's decision, as the only decision-making body in the ERE.

Economic Development Minister Valdrin Luka has told Kosovo Press that by the end of this year the Energy Regulatory Office Board will become operational (ZRRE). He stresses that the new members will be independent and professional, and by January 2018, the Court of Appeals' decision to not pay the energy bills to northern Serbs is implemented.

I expect that by December of this year the ZERE Board will become functional so that the new Appeals Court decision on electricity tariffs, and Kosovo citizens, as well as businesses will no longer pay for Serbian citizens in northern Mitrovica, will be implemented by January. I think it will be impossible to compensate the vehicles for citizens now, but it would be a success from next year to stop paying for the bills of Serbian citizens”, Minister Luka said.

ZERE has no functioning board since May of this year.
