Vetevendosje MP Shqip Pantina had a clash with Finance Minister Bedri Hamza, who has been BEC governor, saying she has committed legal violations when she has decided to resign from the CEC just one day before becoming minister, until the law says she should show three months ahead.
The “Guvrinator who has been responsible for the period this report speaks is here, but now in another quality, is minister of finance. I want to remind you of the former governor, now minister of finance, Article 43 of the BQC law. And Article 43 says so. The governor and deputy governor should resign by writing a letter to the president or board of the CEC, at least three months ago. Mr. Governor, now the minister has resigned just one day before the minister was appointed. Now we have a minister who has come into office committing legal violations of a previous post”, Pantina said.
But Pantina received answers from Finance Minister Bedri Hamza, who said he has not violated any law. Hamza: No legal offenses have I made
You read the law, read it well, it's good that there's a good lawyer and I respect it. But there's a big difference between that and that, you know, it can and should. Even this jurists explain to us, and this could and should be a pretty big difference, and I didn't commit any offense, because when he can, they don't know, there's no way, so legally, it's very fair”, Hamza said.
At the Assembly session, MPs are still discussing the Central Bank report.
