Mladic has been sentenced to life in prison for genocide and crimes against humanity.
Pacolli's statement:
“Institutions and citizens of the Republic of Kosovo welcomed The Hague Tribunal's decision, which sentenced him to life imprisonment “The Balkan Casap”, Ratko Mladic, for war crimes and genocide in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This is an emotional day, with bitter memories but resulting in peaceful justice for Bosniaks, and not alone. Today, all, including citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, share the pain with mothers and relatives of war victims in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Above all, we hope that such acts will never be repeated in our region and that we must work together, take the responsibilities of past acts, and overcome differences about a peaceful and civilized future.
In this case, we are extremely concerned with the recent statement by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, who, instead of apologizing for brutal crimes, which were the result of political directives from Belgrade, tries to demagogue and relat to such a sensitive issue for all the peoples of the region, who have suffered from recent wars.
We want to reconsider once again that such irresponsible statements seriously affect the peaceful future of the region, which is part of which we are all, while such a nationalist discurs would have to meet our bitter past”.
