Minister Hamza: No pension increases in 2018 (Video)

Finance Minister Bedri Hamza has confirmed that by 1 January next year workers' salaries in the public sector will increase by 4 per cent, while 20 per cent increase in social schemes.

The increase will not be for pensioners, because according to Minister Hamza, there has been an increase for the category before a time.

Hamza has reiterated that the draft budget planned for 2018 is 2 billion and 82m euros. Most of the expenses, however, go to capital investments with a total of 687m euros, or 33 percent of the budget.

Hamza said capital investments include considerable infrastructure projects, including road infrastructure, school objects, sports and similar ones.

He also stressed that in addition to the Ministry of Health, the rule and law sector are scheduled to be treated with high priority.

With the budget for 2018, he said special priority importance has also been dedicated to the Kosovo Judiciary Council, which has a 12 per cent budget increase compared to the previous year, as well as the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council with a 27 per cent increase in staff growth for 690 positions.

Hamza said it is working to create new jobs, raise the percentage of economic growth, which enables sustainable employment and address the challenges of Kosovo's economy

He said it is designed for economic growth carriers to be the private sector, where he estimated economic growth for next year would be 4.6 per cent.

Hamza has said that next year's budget is not being built, planning to raise tax rates or set new taxes. He added that he would stimulate businesses and subsidies, as well as create conditions for foreign and local investors.
Incomes for next year to be managed and gathered by Dogans, where there were 1 billion and 175 million in advance, while ATK revenues would total 446 million.
