Kosovo welcomes Izetbegovic's statement about Bosnian recognition

Kosovo Foreign Minister Behgjet Pacolli has welcomed the Bosnian presidency member Bakir Izetbegovic's statement about Kosovo's recognition by his country.
Pacolli has called Izetbegovic's statement constructive, visionary and positive.

“Given that Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina are the only former Yugoslav states that have not recognised Kosovo's independence, recognition from Bosnia and Herzegovina would be a natural and necessary step for deepening good neighbourlyness with all states in the region”, Pacolli wrote in his account at “Facebook”

Such recognition from Sarajevo, according to Kosovo's deputy prime minister, would contribute to regional peace and stability.

We have built excellent reports with all countries in the region. We have a good will to build good interstate reports even with Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia”, Pacolli added.

According to him, the sooner the reality of a Kosovo as a sovereign and independent state is understood, the greater and the stronger the progress and prosperity of all Southeast Europe would be.

Bosnian media quoted Bakir Izetbegovqi as saying in an interview for RDW that Kosovo would have been recognised so far and that our <x0 efforts to do so only damaged relations within Bosnia and Herzegovina and did nothing to help Kosovo”.

The newspaper “Oslobodjenje” writes that Serbian Police Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic has reacted after these statements by Izetbegovici, expecting Serbian President “to call the National Security Council during the next 48 hours”.

Bakir Izetbegovic's statement was also condemned by the other Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency member Mladen Ivanic.
