So many Kosovars who emigrated illegally returned, no one was accepted from asylum

Many Kosovars who migrated illegally to European Union countries in 2014 and 2015 have returned to over 350,000 people, except for a small number who have managed to remain, who are now seeking asylum or temporary residence permits to a future status in the countries [...]
Unlike the illegal migration of Kosovars, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in the past two years has been banned almost entirely, because Hungary has completely closed corridors that were exploited by immigrants and refugees.
According to statistics in 2015, 18 789 Kosovars were repatriated, 13 030 persons were repatriated in 2016. January-September 2017, meanwhile, 4 179 people have been repatriated. Totals between 2015 and September 2017 have been repatriated to 35998 persons.
90 percent of this repatriated number are persons who had migrated to European Union countries through illegal routes during 2014 and 2015.
In an answer from the MPB, given to Indexline, it is said that since early 2015 the irregular migration of Kosovars to different EU countries has been halted almost completely. This is preceded by a series of measures taken by our institutions, both through the organisation of different campaigns, police action and so on.
Even in 2016 and 2017 Kosovars are looking for asylum, even though in a much smaller number than 2015, but on an explanation of the opinion, we inform them that Kosovars who have sought asylum in 2016 or this year are not persons who emigrated or released Kosovo in 2016 or 2017, but are persons who emigrated in 2014 or 2015 and who have now decided to be informed of the authorities of different countries and seek asylum<1, say the response.
“We are in constant contact with embassies of different countries in Kosovo, the EU office, other international organisations which are very pleased with the management of migration in general. For your announcement we are still continuing to maintain information activities with citizens in various municipalities regarding the consequences of irregular migration and promotion of regular migration, despite having no indicators for any new migration wave of”, the MPB response is further said.
