At least 15 people lost their lives, and another 17 have been injured as a result of the bad weather involving Greece.
Most of the victims are third-aged people who unfortunately could not leave their homes, losing their lives. The high level of flood waters forced residents to abandon the first floors. Many of them climbed the rooftops to get help.
The most damaged towns are those of Nea Peramos and Megara, west of the capital of Athens. The heavy clouds turned highways into raging rivers, which took vans in front of them and even heavy tonnage trucks.

It's a natural disaster, everything has disappeared, Mandra town mayor told Greek media. In some neighborhoods of the historic Aztec region, the raging waters that brought mud and mud reached a level of more than 1,000 feet [1.5 m].
Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has expressed his condolences to all the victims' families.
Greek media broadcast images of a major catastrophe in the Nea Perama and Megara areas near the Greek capital.
Because of heavy rainfall, many homes have been flooded, while dozens of cars have been blocked in the surrounding streets. The fire service has responded to more than 360 calls for house support and flooded shops.
There were problems in the flow of vehicles on Athens-Corinth National Road. Local organs have ordered that schools not be opened throughout the western area of Athens Prefecture.
