Turkey's President, Recep Tayip Erdogan, has arrived in Sochi, Russia, for meeting with Russia's President Vladimir Putin. It is considered that the focus of the two presidents' talks will be the conflict in Syria.
Speaking to reporters today in Istanbul, just before leaving for Soci, Erdogan has described Putin as my beloved “friend”.
The Kremlin has said Putin and Erdogan plan to discuss regional and international issues, including the “joint fight against terrorism” and efforts to end the six-year war in Syria.
Syria is Turkey's southern neighbour.
Erdogan said he will discuss more technical details with Putin about buying the type S-400 ground missile system from Russia.
The last meeting between Putin and Erdogan was September 28th in Ankara.
After these talks, the two leaders said they were hired for close co-operation in ending the war in Syria.
