Niels Hoegel may have killed more than 106 patients with his dose of lethal drugs, prosecutors said.
In February 2015, Hoegel was sentenced to life in prison on charges of killing two patients and four in an attempt.
Meanwhile, the convicted person claimed to have killed over 80 patients in hospital intensive care units in the towns of Delmenhorst and Olddenburg, giving them a dose of lethal drugs. After the findings, police launched an investigation, reports “Sputnik International” Transmission Periscope.
On November 9th, investigators said that exhumation of his victims to undergo medical tests has revealed that many victims have died of his deadly drugs, bringing the total to at least 106 patients in both hospitals where Hoegel worked between 1999 and 2005.
Investigators said they are expected to bring new charges against Hoegel in early 2018.
The killer admitted that he would lead patients to death before trying to revive them so that he would look like a hero to his colleagues.
Hoegel earlier testified that from time to time, he killed them from the <x0-seconds that he experienced at certain times.
Toxicologists continue to investigate five other cases, and officials in Turkey plan to ex-Pawner Hoegel. However, many families burned their dead relatives long before the murderous physician became a suspect in their deaths.
