Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has hosted the United Kingdom Minister for Armed Forces Mark Lancaster at the meeting.
Haradinaj said this is a touching moment as Lancaster in the years 99 -2000 served in Kosovo as an officer, now coming as minister of security.
This is a testimony that Kosovo and the UK continue to be friends. We talked about deepening bilateral cooperation. We are convinced that there are many possibilities and many good jobs that can happen to”, he said.
While British Minister Lancaster indicated he served as a soldier in Kosovo and is now returning after 18 years to see Pristina again.
For these 18 years Kosovo has never been far from my opinion. The dedication of our state for Kosovo I hope this connection will continue to help your security forces. Regarding the KSF I've come today to see developments in that force. It is a test for Kosovo and I am happy that Kosovo and our country have worked together. It's a way we're only halfway around, but the key to this road is NATO partnership and NATO presence in Kosovo. I know we're going to face roadblocks on the road but we're going to work together”, Lancaster said.
While the prime minister is talking about changing the KSF's mandate, he said he is interested in being made through constitutional changes and is paying attention to this aspect. According to Haradinaj Kosovo has given great importance to dialogue with Serbia, adding that the US should be facilitators of dialogue together with the EU. “A help is sought by all friends”, Haradinaj said.
The British general has also had a meeting with President Hashim Thaci, while visiting the KSF ministry.
