Arba Abrash's mother is accused of leaving the bandage in the patient's womb. Abrashi's ministry also halted her disability pension (Dok)

Feradije Rexhepi of Pristina, born in 1968, had underwent surgery because he was diagnosed with utero cancer.

She's doctors had forgotten a bandage inside her body, thought to be the size of a towel. Also published in the media was the bandage removed from Rexhepi's stomach after another surgery at another clinic abroad.

After the family complaints, in January 2012, the reaction of CKUK and the doctor who had operated on Rexhepi had arrived. University Clinical Centre director Nyazi Gashi and surgeon Preveza Abrashi had denied it, saying the media had spread the news without even verifying it.

But even if this happened, they justified the surgeon Preveza Abrashi, saying that such mistakes occur around the world.

But the indictment was already filed by the Rexhepi family against the surgeon Preveza Abrashi, who is the mother of former Labour Minister and Social Management Arba Abashi.

Even though director Niazi Gashi and Preveza Abrashi denied that Rexhepi had been forgotten stomach bandages, the victim's family had verified her mistake (the surgeon) at the “Remediaka” clinic in Macedonia.

Feradinje's husband relates the ongoing afflictions

Periscop has contacted Feradije Rexhepi's husband, Nazimiu.

He says that the account of his family's experiences is filtration until he recounts several years' trouble in curing Feradija and insisting on justice, in the case of faça, since he says, that his wife's health has deteriorated to a degree.

He said Feradija had first been subjected to surgery by German doctors at QKUK, and then another operation, where the surgeon was Preveza Abrashi. He told how KKUK had tried to blame the German team of doctors for the forgotten bandage in the stomach of his wife.

According to him, this was irrational because, even if that were true, Abrashi had performed his wife's second operation and should have noticed the bandage if she was forgotten in Feradija's stomach by German doctors.

“Qych is possible so these guys have performed the operation and they haven't seen the page, or they have seen it and left it at”, he asks.

But this was soon clarified after Feradija had been sent to the “Remediaka” clinic in Skopje, where the recording made there had confirmed the bandage on her stomach, until the operation for its removal was conducted at Skopje University Clinical Centre.

He also showed how the indictment he had made at the Pristina Foundation Court was closed. And he says his property was closed by prosecutor Hivzi Bajraktari.

The panel that we had done against Preveza Abrashi was closed by prosecutor Hivzi Bajraktari. And it was done without information. No court hearings have been made. The indictment was closed while I was in England, where I went to help support the family, following numerous expenses in treating my wife”, he said.

Even though Nazmiou said that his family had rejoiced to realize that his wife's afflictions came only from the bandage, not from the return of any cancer, he said that they were very quickly depressed when they realized that the bandages that had stayed in the womb would bring later medical complications, combined with other consequences, such as radiation during the time she had cancer in her womb.

Feradija receives disability pension, but he is interrupted when Arba Abashi was minister MPMS's

Even though Feradija was a healthy woman, she had already begun to obtain disability assistance along with Nazmiu in the market they owned.

But this year, the Ministry of Labour and Social Management -- namely, the Departadmen of the Kosovo Pension Administration -- also prevented Feradija's disability pension, when the minister was still Arba Abrashi, son of surgeon Preveza Abrashi. The argument was that Feradija's situation had improved since she had been subjected to the medical commission's assessment of continued disability retirement.

It's not fair to Nazimiu at all. He doubts it could have been done deliberately by Abrashi because of the indictment his family made to Preveza Abrash, the mother of the former minister.

Why didn't the previous minister stop his disability pension from power earlier? Why now, even though her health hasn't improved at all?

Even in Feradija's complaint, the MPMS ruling considers it unilateral, discriminated against, unfair and contrary to legal provisions.

Nazimiu says he has received no further announcement after his complaint by any institution.

Feradija will be sent to Germany in search of recovery, Nazimiu will seek justice

Nazimiu says that his family is still searching for healing, as is his wife's quest for justice in destroying her health.

He says he's trying to send Feradija to Germany soon, hoping to find better medical treatment.

I'm trying to get you through some ways to Germany for recovery. I don't know, it's a hopeless situation, but he can't stop the tests”, he says.

I have sought both justice and media space, but very often I have been rejected and wanted no one to handle my case, Nazmiu says.

But I will not stop “, he says, tired of years of trying to find healing for his wife, whose health declined since the CKUK operation.

However, Nazimiu says there is hope that his wife's case will be enlightened, because the case has been re-opened by the tribunal and says EULEX investigators are dealing with it. /Periscopi/
