But the mother of three now faces the risk of deportation. The immigration authorities have announced they must leave next week. For Denada, this is the biggest nightmare.
I found everything I ever dreamed of in life here, and even more than that. I came from a lost country and now I have all I ever wanted to have”, said Denada Rondos, an Albanian immigrant in the US.
Her husband, Viron, who has managed to obtain American citizenship, has over 50 employees at his restaurant in Cheshire of Connecticut, says that if he returned with his family to Albania, the consequences would be devastating to them.
Denada has been struggling to stay in the United States since 2007, when the order of immigration officials, who asked her to return to her homeland, first arrived. Since then, each year in a row, it had provided a temporary delay, but the whole situation changed on September 13th, when it was reportedly only two months away.
All hopes now are to allow her stay, as long as her case passes on the review site.
“I hope they give me more time. I hope they let me stay. This is my home. This is my”, Denada said further.
President Donald Trump's policy towards immigrants is much more severe than that of his predecessor Obama has targeted deportations even illegal immigrants who have not committed wrongdoing or serious crimes.
