Washington is preparing for the first criminal charges in connection with Russia's intervention in the 2016 presidential elections. President Donald Trump went on to claim today that the investigations are a “Witch Guy”.

According to some leading American media, a federal jury approved allegations Friday of the investigation conducted by Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller. The charges could become known Monday and that a suspect could be arrested.

It is not yet known who is targeted or the nature of the charges. They're closed by order of a federal judge.

But the charges could mark a significant achievement in the nine-month period of President Trump at the White House. He has often rejected investigations, prosecutors Mueller's and three conducted by Congress for possible links between his campaign and Russia, arguing they are attempts by the Democrats to explain the loss of his challenge, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

A tweet last week, Trump said, “has already been widely acknowledged that after months of costly investigation, there has been no co-operation between Russia and Trump. Co-operation was with Hillary Clinton.

On Sunday, he said there was never this much anger and unity among the Republicans for the absence of an investigation into Clinton” for financing its campaign for research into the links between Trump and Russia, which was initiated by a conservative news agency, Washington Free Beacon, and then continued by the Clinton campaign and the National Democratic Committee with a amount the president suggested costing 12 million dollars. A former British intelligence officer was hired for the investigation and realised what President Trump says was a “false “about ties between his business and Russia, as well as groundless charges of his connection to the Russian prostitute.

President Trump said that the Republicans are also angry with the lack of investigations into an uranium deal in 2013, in which Russia took over 20 per cent of American production and the alleged links to financing Mr Clinton's charity foundation, the involvement of former FBI director James Comey in investigating the treatment of classified material in emails on its private server when Mrs. Clinton was the country's top diplomat from 2009 to 2013 <x0, and much more.

“instead they require secret Trump/Russia co-operation that does not exist”, said Mr. Trump. The “Democrats are using this witch hunt for bad politics, but the Republicans are combating as never before”.

Early in 2017, the American intelligence agency concluded that Russian President Vladimir Putin personally led a campaign to undermine American democracy and help win the elections by Mr. Trump. But none of the several-month investigation has yet been completed and conclusions have been drawn, contrary to President Trump's claims.

In addition to examining Russia's intervention, Mr. Mueller is also investigating whether President Trump prevented justice by dismissing Mr. Comey, who headed the agency's investigation into Russia, before Mr. Mueller, who has also previously been director of the FBI, was appointed.

President Trump said he was thinking about the “issue of Russia”, when he decided to download Mr. Comey in the month of May last year, and the next day he boasted to Russian officials at a meeting at the White House, that by dropping Mr. Comey, he had removed a “a huge pressure on his presidency. He described Mr. Comey as a crazy “, completely insane”.

But, a few days later, Deputy Prosecutor-General Rod Rosenstein named Mr. Mueller in charge of the investigation, after Attorney General Jeff Sessions had resigned himself from managing Russia's investigation, leaving President Trump disappointed.

Legal experts say the initial charges could be brought against a secondary character of the issue, as a common strategy of prosecutors building the file by starting with low-level officials, to focus later on more important names.

Television Channel CNN reported that lawyers working as part of the Mueller team were seen on Friday entering a federal courtroom in Washington, where the big federal jury meets to listen to witnesses, writes Express newspaper.

Mr. Mueller is thought to be looking into the activities of the two main election campaign officials Trump: former national security adviser Michael Flynn, who was dismissed by Mr. Trump in less than a month after taking office after lying to Vice President Mike Pence and other officials, for contacts held with Russia's ambassador to Washington; as well as Paul Manafort, who was for a short period last year campaign manager of Trump, while having major interests in Ukraine, as well as with Russia.

Some republics have begun calling for the conclusion of the investigations, but a key republican lawmaker, Trey Gowdy, told the Fox News channel today that he encourages his party members to give the chance to Mr. Mueller to do his job and that he has not done anything that could harm his trust, as well as that Mr. Mueller is fully apolitical. Lawmaker Gowdy said he opposes cutting funds for Mr. Mueller's investigation.

Lawmaker Gowdy, as chairman of the Government Monitoring Commission in the House of Representatives, began an investigation into the process management by Mr. Comey and the FBI last week of using a private server by Mrs. Clinton.
