The Trump administration will abolish former US President Barack Obama's plan for climate, announced today the head of the US Agency for Environmental Protection, Scott Pruitt.
“Next to Washington, I will sign a bill to abolish the so-called Clean Power Plan of the previous administration”, Pruitt stressed in a speech in Kentucky (South East).
“Clean Power Plan” (The Plan for Clean Energy), aimed at accelerating the energy transition, requires thermal plants to reduce their CO2 emissions by 32 percent by 2030 in proportion to 2005.
If it goes into effect, it will result in the closing of many carbon plants, older ones and most polluting.
US President Donald Trump signed the energy independence decree in March, ordering a review of former US president Obama's climate plan.
