The 10cm-long cigarette remains were purchased by an unnamed collector from Palm Beach in Florida, announced the RR Auction auction home from Boston.
In addition to cigarettes, the photo of Cherrhill has been sold with cigarettes at the airport, where his autograph is.
The cigarette had been guarded by British pilot William Alan Turner, who had been flying the plane that Cherchil and his wife traveled all the way to Paris and back.
