Serbian media write on Thaci's request that Albania give passports to Kosovars

In the context of that requirement, Thaci again criticised the European Union for liberalising visas for Kosovo residents.

The president of Albania was given “The Order of Independence” for “meries and its participation in the process of opening aspirations and gaining Kosovo independence”.

Meta said the award was “a special recognition” for him and Albanians in Albania.

In a joint statement, Thaci and Meta demanded “the continuation of the final phase of dialogue for normalising relations between the state of Kosovo and Serbia, inviting a new EU engagement and direct participation of the US, with a view to eventual recognition of Kosovo as a sovereign and independent state from Serbia, as a process that will have positive effects for the entire region”.

Thaci and Meta want to see “the initial acceleration of integration processes of all countries in the region, who want to join the EU and NATO, as EU and NATO integration remain the deeply political processes, with tremendous impact on the outcome of peaceful processes in the region”.

Their goal, citing in a statement “, is to draft a strategic document for Kosovo's full membership in the EU and NATO”.

The statement stressed the need for “rapid visa liberalisation between the European Union and Kosovo” and Kosovo's “commitment to make every effort to resolve in trust and mutual understanding issues related to the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro”./Periscopi/
