On October 10th 1999, the Democratic Party of Kosovo has been formed(PDK).
This party has been in power since 2007, and since the establishment, there has been President Hashim Thaci, who has already been elected president of Kosovo.
Since the Constitution does not allow simultaneously holding the post of president and party chairman, Thaci resigned from his party functions.
After that, The PDK has held the election seat where Kadri Veselin, who is also chairman of the Assembly, has elected as chairman. Executive organ The PDK is Headship, which is elected by the Steering Council and numbers 28 members.
The Democratic Party of Kosovo has started its ruling history since 2001-2004, when that world was elected Prime Minister Bajram Rexhepi along with 2 ministers from the party's workshop.
The PDK is currently in the ruling coalition with the AKR and the AAK, which it has also given the post of prime minister.
