Foreign Affairs Minister Behgjet Pacolli today has reported before the Commission for Foreign Affairs, Diaspores and Strategic Investment, where from the chairman of this Vjosa Osmani commission, he has been asked about the demarcation issue and with Kosovo's withdrawal from the application for Interpol and U. NESTO.
Foreign Minister Behgjet Pacolli said he has prepared a broad report for two months' work at the MPJ. “Demarkation is a topic weighing domestic policy, Kosovo's relations with Montenegro having a good neighbourhood. I have visited Montenegro, their stance is uncontaminated, and it is a state that lobbies for Kosovo with a loud voice. Montenegro's parliament is not functioning now and then, and when it comes to demarcation they expect to have a noisy discussion in Parliament”, Pacolli stressed, adding that Montenegro has a fair approach to Kosovo.
According to him, the demarcation should not be linked to the good relations Kosovo has with Montenegro.
Pacoli said that agreement cannot be renegotiated because it has passed all procedures in Montenegro.
This is a closed issue for us, this I've heard at every meeting I've had in Montenegro, and this topic for them is a waste of times”, Pacolli said.
The minister indicated that Prime Minister Haradinaj has appointed the border commission and remains to bring new facts to the border line with Montenegro.
According to him, if there is no strong evidence, it is difficult to protect Kosovo's position.
Pacolli said the demarcation issue has been internationalised so much that it is hard to work in Kosovo's favour.
Pacolli has also told of his visit to Brussels, where he has been asked to complete the subject, Demarquement. According to him, Kosovo is a duty that is part of NATO and it is good for the demarcation to switch to Parliament.
Pacolli talking about U n NESTO said on September 2nd Kosovo should apply for U n NESTO and that hasn't happened, which is disturbing to him.
