The mother then comforted her daughter until the police arrived, before she was arrested on charges of attempted murder.
Two lawyers even offered their services for free to protect the woman who cannot be considered an act of murder after she had defended her daughter.
Yesterday at the Supreme Magic Court in the Freere Zone in Eastern Cape, the Prosecution National Authority announced that all charges against it were officially dropped by the state.
The two surviving men are charged with rape and will be in the same court Wednesday.
A total of 110 rapes are reported in South Africa every day, but experts believe that the actual figure may be four times higher, but many are afraid to report.
