Pavlopoulos has accused Tirana and Pristina of behaving like <x0-vetrine international”, and has added that “Albania harms the EU membership process itself”.
Pavlopoulos made these statements Sunday morning in Corfu, where the Museum of Iianis Kapodistria, Greece's first governor, was inaugurated after the liberation from the Ottoman yoke.
He said the Kapodistria has two characteristics -- vision and full respect of international law.
This inspires us Greeks, but it should inspire those who aspire to enter the EU”, he said.
And I say this primarily for neighbouring Albania, the country we always want to have good relations with, and we support it in the membership process”, the Greek president said.
Recent moves between Albania and Kosovo, apparently, have greatly hampered it, saying Albania itself is undermining the EU membership process.
“Well, conduct of international adventure like those we are currently seeing recently between Tirana and Pristina are behaviour of a brutal violation of human rights, and this is happening to minorities or, for example, as with property rights. Unfortunately, Albania harms the membership process itself, and this is not our responsibility”, he added.
Anyway, we're not gonna stand back against such behavior. We owe it to Greece, but even against Europe”, the president of Greece, Prokopis Pavlopoulos, has ended.
