The Turkish Justice Ministry has requested the extradition of Turkish citizens, arrested in Prizren, with the argument that Toxoy is linked to the “Gylen” movement and allegedly committed criminal work “organisation and terrorist group participation”, in Turkey's July 2016 developments.
Justice Minister Abelard Tahiri has declared KTV that there is not yet a decision on the issue, since he is not informed of the work Turkish national has done.
Such a requirement is being described as meaningless by connoisseurs of legal affairs in Kosovo.
They have voiced opposition to Ugur Toxoy's extradition for ideological reasons, because that person after extradition could undergo torture or inhuman treatment and an unfair judgment outside international standards.
Ugur Toxoy has been assigned detention measure for 40 days. He now lives in Kosovo for several years, while eventually working at the “Atmosphera” foundation.
