Tahiri said this during the opening of the “Crime Victims Rights Week”, where participants were state president Hashim Thaci, Chief Prosecutor Alexander Lumezi, US Ambassador Greg Delaway and many other important personalities.
“E has launched the criminal victims' compensation programme, which allows financial compensation to victims of violent crime for specific injuries resulting from criminal acts. As justice minister, I have the satisfaction of announcing that in September the Commission for Compensation of Crime Victims has addressed the first requirement for compensation, and the same has been approved in the framework of conditions met under the legal provisions in force”, Tahiri has said.
