Erdogan will be expected from his Serbian counterpart, Aleksandar Vukic, and will also speak with National Assembly President Maja Gojkovic and later participate in a business forum with Vucici, reports “92x1>, Periscopi broadcast.
On Wednesday, the Turkish leader will visit the town of Novi Pazar, which is located in southwestern Serbia.
In an editorial written for the Belgrade daily “Politika” before the visit, Erdogan said that Turkey and Serbia are the “two key countries in the Balkans” and that their co-operation is of key importance to maintaining stability, peace and prosperity in the region, and throughout Europe.
“Beta” is reporting that Erdogan's visit -- which has come here with a delegation of 185 businessmen -- will focus on economic co-operation, with Serbia “interested in attracting more Turkish investors”.
The Turkish natural gas pipeline will be discussed, while the two countries must sign a new Free Trade Agreement and several other investment agreements.
The report noted that bilateral trade reached $900m in 2016 and is expected to exceed a billion this year.
From January to August 2017, Serbia sold goods in Turkey worth 442m euros, while imports reached $284m, the report said.
About 3,000 police officers will be deployed on the streets of Belgrade to make it possible to arrive, as well as to ensure the identity of any incident, as has often happened to members of the Turkish president's security./Periscopi/
