A memorial hearing for the 70th anniversary of firing MPs from the communist regime was held in Albania's Assembly morning.
In his address to this session, Prime Minister Edi Rama has stated that the law on opening files constitutes a step forward for Albania, which according to him will be listed alongside those countries that have left the past behind.
The file opening law, 25 years later, brought Albania together with the countries that passed Communist hell and decided to break up with it not simply by changing the system and costumes, but by striving to light on past”, Rama has declared.
The head of the government has stressed that the files for 25 years have been used politically by persons who have not had the will to open them.
And today's <x0 law equips us with research tools in the function of a human mission. I'm proud to be in charge of a government and a majority that took over this mission because others before us didn't have the courage or took the time to get”, Rama further said.
According to him, those files are an important kiloometry stone on the road to shed light on the past, which, according to him, would be painful, “but would not allow the past to hold our future hostage”, Rama added. /topchannel
