Cayentapus ambroholhal is too big to have any other dinosaur found so far in Africa.
Scientists have discovered that a great dinosaur, an ancestor of T-rex, lived in Africa 200 million years ago.
The leftovers were photographed in Lesotho's kingdom.
Megatherpods are more of a species than Tyrannosaurus rex.
Scientists believe the discovery leads to a link to T-rex, who lived 65 million to 85 million years ago.
British team member Fabienne Knoll from Manchester University has called the discovery very important and that it sheds new light on what other species of the day might have been.
The cautious traces of the dinosaur leg are 57cm long and 50cm wide.
Research associate Lara Sciscio from University in Cape Town said these large tracks are usually rare.
The study is published in the Public Library of Service One.
