Courts in Kosovo are scheduled to equip themselves with the competence to suspend, even dismiss public officials who are in the procedure or who are convicted of criminal acts related to abuse of official office.
Such circumstances will be created through changes to the Criminal Code and the Criminal Procedure Code, Koha Ditore writes today.
This policy has become known, in a draft of a concept of suspension and dismissal of public officials. It stresses that the new measures will apply to those who consume criminal acts of corruption or misuse of official office or authority.
And through the provision of suspension, it is aimed at preventing further misuse of authority and at the same time not allowing officials to influence evidence, which is considered to be key to ensuring successful prosecution.
