Socialist Spanish Socialist Party leader Pedro Sanchez today urged the head of the Catalonian government, Carles Puigdemont, to suspend everything and give up a declaration of unilateral independence, which he anticipates to do tomorrow.
I hope, within my competencies, that he will hear us, to suspend everything, not issue unilateral declarations of independence”, Sanchez said.
He stressed that he would back the Spanish state's response, which could include suspending regional autonomy in the event of a unilateral declaration.
