“Catalon will become independent”, says the head of this region

The president of the Autonomous Government in eastern Spain, Carlos Puigdemont, has said he will not withdraw from unilateral declaration of independence, AA writes.

We do not appoint it as unilateral declaration of independence. We are declaring independence. This is in our law, and we will follow what the law” says, Puigdemont said in a coverage of Catalan TV3 television.

Citing the law for referendum abolished by the Constitutional Court, Puigdemont said they would implement the article for “independence to be declared 48 hours after the referendum results, if the winner comes out of pro” votes. “Whether you like it or not, the ones that are happening in Catalonia are true. Millions took advantage of the referendum vote. These people want to decide about their future”, Puigdemont said, stressing that there has been no dialogue with the government of Spain for a long time.

Meanwhile, Puigdemont did not give any details if there will be a vote for the declaration of independence at the plenary session of the local parliament, to be held on October 10th, Tuesday.

On the other hand, the National Catalonia Assembly (ANC), which led civil initiatives for independence, has confirmed that independence would be declared on Tuesday.
