Salaries and pensions will again recognise growth over the coming year, following the significant increase Albania's Government took on March 1st this year.
A total wage and pension increase fund project in 2018 is estimated at $2.8 billion, among which 1 billion for new wage policies and 1.8 billion for pensions.
Finance and Economy Ministry Secretary General Gelardina Prodani said the level of growth and priority sectors will be determined through a separate decision by the Council of Ministers in line with the priorities of its programme.
On March 1st this year, the Government imposed an average increase of 10 %s for public administration employees, some independent institutions, education and health systems, as well as those depending on the Prefect.
The Fund for raise in wages and pensions was $100m, which also represented the highest value of funds designed for salary and pension increases within a budget in 25 years.
The decision is a direct expression of a new, irrevocable reality, in which the country has entered, as a result of difficult but successful reforms undertaken in the past four years. As a result of the consolidation of economic growth and reflection of economic development”, Prodani said. /21Media
