Academy of Sciences holds commemorations for Robert Elsie

In the case of the life apart from life of Canadian Albanologist Robert Elsie, the Kosovo Academy of Sciences and Arts, will hold a memorial meeting.

Elsie passed away on October 2nd at the age of 67.

Elsie was among the greatest scholars of Albanian language and literature.

He was a member of the Southeast European Association (Südostaupa-Geselschaft), a member of the Kosovo Academy of Sciences and Arts, and an honorary member of the Kosovo Writers' Association.

Elsie, among many works on the literature and history of Albanian literature she has written, will also be remembered for translating the masterpiece of Father Gjergette “Malcys”, “The Highland Lute”
