(2 hours ago)The Specialised Prosecutor's Office has rejected Hashim Thaci's defence request for the provisional release of the former Kosovo president from prison. According to chief American prosecutor Kimberly West, Thaci must remain in custody.
“Continued and rapid progress of this judicial process, including the deadline for any final motion concerning the evidence, also supports continued detention of THACHAT”, the West Paper said.
The US prosecutor has also cited the danger of committing other criminal acts and prosecution in procedures.
“Contacts on the existence of risks under Article 41%6) attributed to T THE issue remains valid. They are done on the basis of a large number of rational and individualised factors, and no condition possible for his release can ease them sufficiently”, the ZPS document writes.
