KSF engages in fire disposal in Pec Spherka dump

Kosovo Security Force (FSK) has committed its units to intervention in the village of Spherka in the Pec municipality, following the outbreak and spread of a large-scale fire in the area's waste depot.
According to KSF's announcement, after accepting the request from the Kosovo Security Council's Centre for Situations and Secretariat, the KSF Operational Centre has made immediate assessment of the risk and capacity for response.
After the appropriate analysis, at KSF Commander's order, Lieutenant General Union Jashari, has been mobilised and specialised units of the National Guard with its capacity for intervention in this situation", the KSF reports.
The operation, according to the KSF, has been launched immediately with the aim of isolating the fireplace, preventing toxic pollution of the environment, and avoiding consequences for public health.
Our"Units are working in close co-ordination with central, local authorities, civil emergency services and the local population to turn the situation into normal at the earliest possible time", has revealed KSF.
The Kosovo Security Force has stressed that it remains committed to serving Kosovo's citizens, in accordance with its duties and mission.
