The prosecution raided Fidesz headquarters in Hungary! Orban Party Charges Government

A new political clash has erupted in Hungary, as prosecutors have conducted a raid on Fidesz party offices, where the internet servers of political force previously run by Victor Orban are located.

The news was disclosed by Fidesz himself, which is currently in opposition after losing power in recent elections in front of the new ruling party Tisza. The party has accused Prime Minister Peter Magyar's government of trying to undermine its functioning and crack down on its political structures.

“The prosecutors arrived without warning at the centre where Fidesz party servers are located, with the aim of sequencing the entire communication system and party database”, Fidesz said through a Facebook response.

According to Orban's party, such an act has not taken place in Hungary since 1990, following the fall of the communist regime. Fidesz said he would fight against what he described as the aggressive tyrant of the Tisza” Party.

On the other hand, the new government and Prime Minister Peter Magyar have denied they are pursuing an authoritarian policy against political opponents. Magyar said he expects to receive official information from the prosecutor's office regarding the action.

The Tisza party won the April elections, ending 16 years of government of Fidesz and Victor Orban. Magyar has promised the restoration of democratic institutions and the approach of Hungary with the main line of the European Union, following years of clashes between Brussels and the Orban government on issues such as rule of law, corruption and minority rights.

Fidesz, now in opposition, has repeatedly accused the new government of authoritarian behaviour, while Tisza has declared her priority is the fight against corruption, which she has described as a major problem during previous governance, Panaroma reports. Periscope.

According to the media, the prosecution's control relates to an investigation into allegations over “on the passage of funds and other criminal works” at the National Culture Fund (NKA), according to prosecutors from the southern town of Bacs-Kiskun.

Authorities have not provided further details on the action, while the investigation relates to decisions on granting grants from the NKA worth over 17 billion Forenta, about $53.9m.

Some current officials and former officials have been involved in criminal proceedings concerning these financing, but they have denied the charges.

The investigation began after claims that state funds were distributed untransparently to artists and organisations linked to Fidesz. Victor Orban's party has denied allegations of corruption. /Periscope/
