(5 hours ago)Kosovo's National Institute of Public Health has reported that during April 16th through July 20, 2026, a total of 69 fruit confirmed cases have been reported in Kosovo.
According to the IKSHPK, 11 new cases of measles were reported last week.
“According to municipalities, the highest number of cases are reported by Pristina municipality by twenty-one cases, the Ferizaj municipality with twelve (12) cases; Fushe-Kosovo with 12) cases; Catachic with seven (7) cases; Lipjan with three cases (3); Vushtrri, Shtime, Drenas and Obilic, with two (2) occasions; as well as a (1) case of municipalities: Podujevo, Gjilan, Decani, Skenderaj, Shtrpce and Year.”, says the IKSHPK report.
The IKPK has recommended that each person with suspicious measles symptoms, such as high fever, rashing or changes in skin, coughs, beads, or controls, be shown immediately at the nearest health institutions.
In view of the high efficiency of measles, the risk of spreading it to the community, and the complications producing measles, IKPK calls on parents and stewards to verify the status of vaccination of their children and provide vaccines according to the regular communication calendar at family medical centres. ”, said in notification.
It says that the vaccine remains the most effective and safer measure for the prevention of measles, the protection of unvaccinated individuals and the preservation of public health.
