Iran threatens Bulgaria, NATO: We Ready to Protect · Global Voices

Iran has threatened Bulgaria as the government intends to help Bulgaria host American military planes.

But, Colonel Martin O'Donell told Euronews that NATO is ready to defend Bulgaria if it is attacked.

He said the alliance has already protected Turkish territory from missile ballistic attacks in the first days of the war with Iran.

We saw when Iran fired missiles towards Turkey an ally of NATO, which NATO defended in all those cases, and we will continue to defend against any threat Iran or anyone else to this defence alliance”, OCEDone said.

Bulgaria's government reportedly aims to station American planes at the Bezmer military object, about 257km southeast of Sofia's capital.

The US and Iran have intensified the attacks since a temporary ceasefire agreement signed a month ago did not last, increasing the possibility of a return to full war.
