Kosovo imported goods worth over 112m euros from Serbia for six months

Kosovo Customs data shows that during January 2026 alone, Kosovo has imported goods from Serbia, worth 112 million and 301 thousand and 046 euros, writes Infocus, the Periscope broadcast.

Data analysis shows that imports from Serbia are not limited to raw materials or industrial products, but also include basic food products, drugs, drinks, construction materials and daily usage goods, which continue to take place in the Kosovo market.

The figures show that the trend of imports from Serbia has not changed even this year. During 2025, Kosovo imported goods from Serbia worth about 234m euros, while in the first six months of 2026 that figure has already reached 112,301,046.17 euros. If the current rate of imports continues in the second half of the year, the value of goods imported from Serbia is expected to be near last year's level again, even at risk of overcoming it. This shows that, despite political developments and political statements and promises for reducing economic dependence, Kosovo's market continues to rely to a considerable extent on products coming from Serbia.

How were 112 million import from Serbia divided monthly?

According to Kosovo Customs data, imports from Serbia according to months have been:

The figures show that after January, imports have consistently remained over 17m euros a month, while in the months of April, May and June have exceeded the 20m euros limit.

Kosovo continues to feed on corn, wheat from Serbia

Infocus newspaper analysis points out that products with the highest value imported from Serbia are:

The list proves that a significant portion of imports consists of products used daily by citizens or businesses in Kosovo, showing that, despite political developments over the years, trade dependence on Serbia continues to be present in many sectors of the economy.

Imports Continue to Remain High

Data analysed by Infocus newspaper shows Serbia remains one of Kosovo's biggest trading partners for import. In just six months, the value of imported goods has exceeded 112m euros, while among them dominate both the raw materials for industry and products found daily on market shelves, pharmacies and construction sectors.

These figures turn to attention the dependence of Kosovo's economy on imports and high levels of goods that continue to enter from Serbia, despite the historical political relations and trade measures of recent years.
