Inspectorate bans work in 16 Kosovo works

The Central Labour Inspectorate has banned operations in 16 works in Pec, Pristina, Ferizaj, Lipjan and Fushe Kosovo, following inspections conducted under the supervision of the implementation of labour legislation and labour safety and health.

According to the announcement, serious legal violations have been found during the raids that posed serious risks to the life and health of workers.


As a result, immediate suspension of the works has been ordered to eliminate all irregularities and create safe working conditions. The inspector made it known that the resumption of activities will be allowed only after the legal requirements and safety standards are verified, while warning that intensive controls will continue throughout the country.

Under continued inspections for monitoring the implementation of labour and health legislation at work, the Central Labour Inspectorate has realised checks in 16 locations in the municipalities of Pec, Pristina, Ferizaj, Lipjan and Fushe Kosovo.

During inspections, serious violations of legal provisions have been recorded, which posed serious risks to the life and health of workers. For this reason, the Central Labour Inspectorate has ordered an immediate ban on operations in 16 countries, to eliminate all recorded irregularities and create safe working conditions.

These measures are aimed at preventing accidents at the workplace and ensuring workers' safety. Relaunching the works will only be allowed after inspectors find that all legal requirements and safety standards have been met.

The Central Labour Inspectorate will continue intensive controls throughout the territory of the Republic of Kosovo and will not tolerate any violations that endanger the lives and health of workers.
