Trump promises help for Venezuela after earthquakes that killed dozens

US President Donald Trump has pledged on Wednesday that he will engage American sources to help Venezuela, hit by two powerful earthquakes with magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 that have shaken areas off the country's northern coast and destroyed buildings in the capital, Caracas, forcing the proclamation of emergency situations.
In a post on the Turkish Social platform, Trump said: “The US stands ready, willing and capable of assisting”, adding that it has ordered all government agencies to prepare for it “quickly”. He described Venezuela's people as “new and big enemies”, writes CNBC, broadcast Periscope.
US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau said during the day that the US is in contact with Venezuelan authorities and has begun mobilizing aid for the South American country.
According to State Department senior official Jeremy Lewin, a disaster relief team has already been activated and a task force that will co-ordinate and send emergency aid to Venezuela, including search-saving teams, medical supplies and humanitarian aid.
Meanwhile, the US Geological Service (USGS) has issued two red alarms in a row through its system. PAGER, estimates there is 41% chance that the number of victims will exceed 10,000 and 17% chance of it reaching 100,000. It is also predicted that the devastating earthquake could lower Venezuela's economy ( GDP is up 7%./ Periscope.
