Out of 48 participating teams, 16 will be eliminated after the end of the group phase.

So far, five teams that lost their first two matches have been eliminated, while Qatar and the Czech Republic have joined the list after poor results in their groups.

According to the new 2026 World Cup format, all teams ending up in the group's last place are eliminated, while the four nationals ranked third with the lowest balance also leave the tournament.
